MOTOR INSURANCE POOL (MIP)

The Motor Insurance Pool was established in 1980. It was a compulsory coinsurance Pool for the provision of Third Party Liability cover to selected classes of public transport vehicles in Malta; such as scheduled buses, coaches, red minibuses and self-drive motorcycles.

The Pool ceased its underwriting activity with effect from the 1st January 2012 and is presently in run-off.
