Financial Crime Seminar 2026                                           

The Insurance Association Malta’s Financial Crime Seminar, organised through its AML Committee, was successfully held on 6 October 2026 at the premises of Mapfre Msv Life plc in Floriana.   

The event was exceptionally well attended and brought together a broad cross section of participants from across the insurance industry, as well as representatives from key national stakeholders, including the Malta Police Force, the Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit (FIAU), the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) and the Central Bank of Malta. The seminar provided an important forum for discussion on emerging financial crime risks and the measures being undertaken across the sector to strengthen governance, compliance, staff awareness and professional development. 

The IAM wishes to note and record its appreciation to the AML Committee for the successful organisation of the event and to Elvira and the team at Mapfre Msv Life plc for once again generously hosting the seminar.

Thanks are also due to the three experienced speakers, Antonio Ghirlando (IVALIFE), Edward Duncan (LifeStar) and Raymond Bartolo (HSBC), whose highly informative and engaging presentations contributed significantly to the success and value of the event for participants.
