New car scrappage scheme launched

Transport Malta said today it is receiving applications for the new grant scheme on the purchase of new environment-friendly vehicles.

This scheme is aimed at reducing the number of old motor vehicles from the road reducing pollution. Subject to various conditions, the grant, between €700 and €900, is given upon the purchase of a new motor vehicle that qualifies for the scheme while de-registering a vehicle in the same category.
