The MIRE Project Manager will spearhead a strategic initiative by five of Malta’s leading motor insurers (Mapfre Middlesea, GasanMamo, Atlas, Elmo and Argus) under the administration of the Insurance Association (IAM). This initiative is aimed at modernising vehicle repair standards, improving efficiency in repairs, and raising the levels of knowledge, safety and professionalism in the Maltese motor vehicle repair industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research international vehicle repair standards and provide technical recommendations to authorities, including the MCCAA and Transport Malta.
  • Analyse work practices and recommend modern methods to improve efficiency and ensure that fair mechanisms are used to set labour rates, paint, and material costs.
  • Oversee the registration and auditing of motor vehicle assessors and manage the electronic estimating systems and training needs.
  • Monitor and review the vehicle replacement parts procurement process used by insurers to ensure cost-efficiency, transparency and quality.
  • Develop strategies for the secure disposal of vehicle wrecks and implement procedures to ensure damaged cars are safely repaired before being returned to the road.
  • Act as the primary link between insurers, repairers, and motor vehicle assessors through industry forums, PR initiatives, and the organisation of training sessions and seminars.

Candidate Requirements

  • Strong project management skills paired with technical knowledge of and experience in motor vehicle repairs.
  • Familiarity with basic motor insurance concepts.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented approach, capable of driving industry change and meeting strict deadlines.
  • Proficiency in statistical collation, data analysis, and reporting for management decision-making.
  • High ethical standards and a commitment to professional excellence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literacy and a valid driving license
