Insurers say Malta’s Alcohol Policy weak on drink-driving enforcement

Malta’s insurers have criticised the government’s new National Alcohol Policy, warning that it lacks strong enforcement measures against drink-driving and risks repeating past failures.

The Insurance Association Malta (IAM) said the policy, released for consultation after an 18-month delay, omits a section dedicated to drink-driving that was present in the 2018–2023 framework.
