Driving into the future… This week, we attended the launch of the new Malta Road Code, which had not been revised in over 20 years. This is a long-awaited and welcome development as it recognises the evolution in Malta's road transport and road users, which weren't in existence or tackled by the former code.
Rolled out by Transport Malta CEO Kurt Farrugia and Transport Minister Chris Bonett, the new code contains 195 pages of updated guidance and sets the tone for a safer, more respectful road environment for all.
It also reflects today’s transport landscape, including: eScooters, bicycles, motorised wheelchairs and horse-drawn carts.
We hope that TM's educational campaign entitled Think Twice, will go a long way in helping to cultivate a new and more responsible road culture.
