The car scrappage scheme as announced in the 2015 Budget has been fully taken up with €400,000 in grants having been issued for the purchase of 506 new cars as old ones were scrapped.
Vehicle owners who applied for the latest scheme were entitled to between €700 and €900 upon the purchase of a new private car, the CO2 emissions of which could not exceed 130g/km and length did not exceed 4460mm.
