The idea of an Act of God does not exist in the modern world of insurance
Is it an Act of God? Or an Act of Mankind?… Nowadays, the term Act of God is becoming less common in favour of more precise language. Insurance Association Malta director General Adrian Galea explains that contrary to the myth that an "Act of God" means a claim will be denied, on the contrary many events are covered.
The issue often lay with what people assumed was covered, without actually understanding what they’re actually insuring.
In the aftermath of Storm Harry many scrambled to check their insurance policies, and Mr Galea said insurance companies were in the process of compiling data.
